My wife and I are preparing and painting my 17 year old daughters room today and this weekend. The preparation is the part that is taking all the time. Heck I want to just start painting but I overcome that urge by realizing something that every business professional, successful athlete and other successful people will tell you - preparation is the most important part to successful performance.

It's the same with business. Let me be specific. Making money online, making money at home, in network marketing, multilevel marketing, direct sales, etc. is a great and fast becoming honorable way to to financial freedom. Well it takes some education, not college like, but there are things you must know before getting involved. Again it's the preparation that can be the foundation of future success.

That future can be as soon as tomorrow so keep in mind that this industry doesn't require a great deal of preparation but none the less it takes some. There are many people on the internet who will show you the ropes, so it doesn't take forever to prepare for success.

A lot of people are attempting to "make additional money online" and appropriately so, due to the effective nature of the growing internet marketplace. People really can "make honest money online" and there are many home based business opportunities available.

Find one for which you can become passionate about. As I've said, with all the other attributes being as I've previously suggested, the product you are passionate about will keep you going even during the difficult times.

Minimize Downline Fallout In MLM Residual Income Type Of Business Opportunities

If you know anything at all about Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) you know that one thing that discourages even the best of marketers is when people stop their autoship (autoship=product you automatically buy and have shipped to you month after month.) When they stop their autoship you no longer get paid their residual. Remember residual income is pay for doing the work once then the money continues month after month.

I've even heard some people say that they wouldn't get involved with MLM to make money online because of the possibility of people leaving. If you happen to be one of those who feel this way you need to understand that that's a risk in any business you associate with. Things aren't always going to go your way. But there are things you can do to minimize the possibility of people leaving.

The best thing you can do for yourself to minimize the number of people who leave the opportunity is to take heed to the attributes I've discussed in previous posts that you must look for in a business opportunity during your research.

You could loose people for the reason of them no longer desiring the the product or because they are not making money with the business oportunity. Here's how you can help yourself to avoid either from happening too often. (Notice that I said too often, that is because it will happen in any business but you are needing to know how to minimize it.)

For example; Joining an online business opportunity that has a product wanted and needed by the masses that gives them great value and benefit at a reasonable price is probably the best thing you can do to minimize the number of people that become less excited about the product and leave. I wrote about this approximately two posts ago, you should refer to it.

Getting involved with an opportunity that has company backing with long term successful experience, an excellent pay plan, a product that is wanted and needed by the masses, along with support and guidance, minimize the possibility of people ending their autoship due to their lack of interest in the Business Opportunity.

Does Product Cost Make A Difference In Making Money In MLM?

With so many opportunities staring us right in the face it's difficult to know which ones present us with the extra spark that increases our odds to make money online in Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM). This is why I've been writing about qualities an opportunity must have to increase those odds.

The first three are the most important qualities that place you in a position of success, they are again;

• Excellent product needed by the masses
• Experienced successful company overly friendly to the needs of business builders and product sales people as well - this reflects well in the next quality
  
• An extra fair compensation program allowing for both immediate as well as residual awards

You get these right during your search and you'll succeed should you have the right work ethic and guidance.

What about cost? The cost of getting involved in the opportunity as well as the monthly cost should be based on two things and you need to answer all by yourself if the cost is right for you

1. Is the product you get for being a member worth the price you are paying. You certainly don't want to gouge your customer nor do you want to be gouged
2. Is this a price you and others are willing to pay after the initial euphoria of joining is settled down? Will you be happy and will your customers be happy and can you all afford to pay this month after month? So the cost you pay must be aligned to the value of the underlying product.
   

Again you do the first three things right (company, product, comp plan) in selecting an opportunity and the price you pay for the opportunity will be based on your better judgment.

Company's Successful Experience Makes You Money Online

To know best which MLM to join for the purpose of giving yourself the best chance to success in making steady money online, I've given you, in the two immediately previous posts, the attributes of --- an excellent product and a compensation plan giving you immediate and residual financial reward.

Today I'd like to remind you of the importance of the company that is backing these excellent products and compensation plans. It only makes sense that the company's integrity and experience show you success and give you confidence so that, unless something totally unforeseen comes along, they won't be leaving you high and dry with all your income going away.

Yesterday I wrote about the first thing one must look for when choosing an MLM business opportunity that will benefit you for years to come. That subject was making sure that you join an opportunity that has a product that is wanted and needed by the masses. Of course joining an MLM that has a great product is not enough to insuring that you are finding the best opportunity for you. There are several attributes a business opportunity must have to be classified as a terrific long lasting money making opportunity.

The next attribute you should look for is a truly excellent compensation program. One that gives you immediate as well as long term income. The compensation program presentation is made over the internet and the compensation program specifics identified. Often MLM compensation programs are a little complicated and that is actually to your advantage. This is because it usually means there are a lot of ways to make excellent money with the opportunity.

The first thing I mentioned about an excellent compensation plan is that it must give you immediate as well as long term income. Researching the compensation plan will reveal this. What did I mean by a pay plan having both immediate as well as long term income? The major inducement to an MLM program is it's long term residual nature so often times MLM's don't provide very inticing immediate compensation. A lot of would-be as well as experienced online marketers are choosing to go with a multi-level marketing approach as their business opportunity from which to make money online because it usually provides money continuously after the initial sale is made (residual income). But not all MLM's are created equal and so I advise that by choosing one with certain attributes you can prosper like you could never have imagined before.

The first attribute you should be looking for in choosing an MLM is a product or product line that is needed and used by the masses. The point being that in Multi-level marketing you make money if people continue to buy the product month after month, rather than solely on a one off sales basis. What better way is there to keep these people automatically interested in buying month after month than by offering a desireable product that will definitely solve a problem of theirs, and the masses need and use it.

The health and wellness anti-aging products industry is a perfect example of a product needed and used by the masses and creats a great benefit for ones health.

You find a product that meets the litmus test of needed wanted and beneficial to the masses and you've got the beginnings of an life changing home business.

In the Make Money from Home industry, as some of us call it, we continue to see business opportunities that run like a automatic vending machine on the internet. It's like seeing an advertisement and an informational website, liking what you see and joining without talking to a person.

Opportunities that have you Plug-In to their automated system is another term used in the industry where you simply join a well thought out plan and you use the materials they supply for you to run the business without much human contact.

I have written in the past about how you must be able to contact the sponsor and get the right answers in order to feel comfort in your not being scammed. The question therefore arises, "Considering the number of automated systems without apparent human contact do I still feel comfortable in the advice I have written?"

That is a good question for anyone to ask, because nobody wants to "be taken" and there are so many good opportunities found on the internet that a blanket statement like "you must be able to talk to the sponsor" is just a little short sighted, if taken out of context.

The meaning behind any statements I've made about needing to contact the sponsor is this. If you want to get the highest degree of comfort you must contact the sponsor. That does not mean all other opportunities are scams. In fact some of the best opportunities are as close to being fully automated as is possible.

So let me identify some things you should consider while making a decision when you have some but little way of contacting the sponsor and asking important questions. These considerations are pretty simplistic but if you're at all like me you can get pretty mixed up when looking at all of the opportunities to choose from and therefore simplification can be helpful.

1. How well put together is the information about the opportunity, may be a sign about how much thought was put into the business opportunity. Usually well thought out opportunities are signs of quality.

2. Are all of your questions answered in the sales websites and informational e-mails you read about the opportunity.

3. Are you able to "Google" the person responsible for the program and find good reviews and comments made about the product and the person. This is sometimes a hard one because there are those who write bad comments about good people and good opportunities. But it is worthwhile reading nonetheless as you should be able to decide for yourself if the comments are real.

4. In some cases you know the sponsors name and that may be good enough to know if they have conducted themselves with integrity on the internet in the past.

5. Is the price low enough that you would not loose any sleep if it did not happen to work out. Sometimes you like an opportunity so much that you feel it's worth a chance even though you can't contact anybody about the opportunity. Don't get me wrong here I'm not saying you should take a chance but the other questions and price point can help you decide the level of risk you are taking.

6. Does logic tell you that there is something wrong or right about the opportunity? The internet is a wide-open venue and there are few rules so sometimes you must use your gut feel along with the other items listed above that you should consider.

I found myself in the past and also know that there are others (usually new people considering making money online) that have a difficult time determining whether a business opportunity will be right for them. I have written many articles about this subject and there are many more than I have written that can give one ideas about this subject. I have given suggestions above in numbers 1 thru 6 that should give you an idea of how to look for a viable opportunity for you.

But if there is one single thing as important as anything else it is this. Do not be lazy, do your research. If you do the research, you will be taking into consideration warning signals as well as positive signs and have sufficient information for you to make an educated decision.

The Road Less-travelled can make you money online.

May I comment on one of my twitter and facebook posts. "The less-traveled paths often lead to the most beautiful places."

In online business who knows the least traveled places - usually if you hear about it it's not the least traveled.

But I' referring to joining a business that isn't the latest and greatest. The latest and greatest advertise to the extent they make you wonder if you ever want to listen to another comment.

I've repeatedly harped on the concept of doing something you can be passionate about. Don't base your decision to do business upon whether it is the most popular, although that has merit with immediate interest, but base your decision on if you have passion even if it is the "less-traveled" path.

This means finding a Niche that is just for you or joining a business that fits you. Of course you want to find out if there is a need for it on the internet and that people have interest in buying it, because if you don't you may never get any sales.

The whole point being that you can find something to do online without it being the latest and greatest launch.

Article Writing To Make Money Online

Many have asked in frustration similar to that pictured to the left, to know of other ways to help you market with the longer term result of making money online. As a reference, we're all pretty familiar with the pay-per-click advertising method and others, but one way to begin or to continue to get the word out to people that you exist and to let them know that you know what you are talking about is found in the method of "article writing".

You will make steady money online with this information because the search engines will take note of your keywords and associate it with your link and if you have enough links your information will come to get closer to the all important top of search engine listings. You name brand because people are going to read your articles and if they read enough and like what you've written they will also visit your website.

Article writing and using your by line or resource box effectively can make money online and it will become steady money online when your information is made widely available on the internet over time.

Yes the Internet does provide terrific opportunity. We really have no excuse if we don't take advantage of the terrific opportunities found online. With 700mm people doing some sort of business online, it makes no sense whatsoever to overlook the internet as an extra source of income or even replacement income.

Some of you out there have some level of discouragement about your online business efforts and I can't blame you because it feels an awful lot like things are not fair. You have the choice to kick in and keep engaged or to give into the pressures and quit. What will it be for you? Here is a quote that helps me find perspective to my decision making process.

To make steady income from home on the internet is becoming an excellent way to call your own shots and not be subject to a boss who may not have your interests in mind.

The question comes into play about how people are going to see what you have to offer on the internet (traffic generation). That subject is huge and I've written in the past on many of the ways one can market their product or service.

Here I'd like to discuss the importance of writing articles as a means of indirectly marketing your website, so that people will eventually visit and be impressed enough with your website and offer to do business with you.

Why write articles?

· Since we know that people do business with other people they like and trust, when you write articles you are in essence showing your public that you know what you are talking about and are willing to help them with good information. Article writing becomes an important way for people come to like and trust you.

· Also and just as important is the advantage you get for them to visit your website. Of course when you write you are not writing to sell them on your specific business, but you do have an opportunity to leave your link to your website in the resource box in the article. Therefore, if they are impressed they may just wish to look at your website URL and see what you specifically have to offer. If it will provide value to them they may buy what you have.

· Another benefit to article writing in search engine popularity. If you've used your keywords properly, the search engines have another source and link to your website URL and it may possibly help for your article to get indexed higher up in the search engines. This is very import, because search engines have a lot of traffic and the closer to the top of the listings you are the more exposure you and your business will have.

Some mentors will tell you that writing an article is easy, and to an extent it is. But keeping in mind that you are indirectly trying to market people into liking and trusting you, then it behooves you to research and find out how to write an article correctly, so that you draw them to you and not drive them away.

Just in case you didn't know. While there are other places to submit your articles, like a Blog, for example, it is advantageous to submit your articles to an e-zine directory that can in turn distribute your article to various other places. Doing so can help get you a lot of exposure.

Following e-zine publisher guidelines is very important. Often directories teach you how to write an article, if you don't already know how.

Writing articles is very important to your marketing and traffic generation plan. However, it is only one of many ways to market and you should continue with your marketing research so that you can have a widespread marketing campaign to make steady money online.

I just wanted to thank Damian Benko at the turnkey marketing group for the excellent telephone seminar last night 6-5-2009 covering the part that Social Networking plays in our efforts to make money online. James Holmes presented and really gave us usefull information that any of us could go out and implement today.

In my efforts to make money online with my Berry Tree Nutronix business opportunity I learned something very basic to social networking from this seminar. You do social networking just like you do going to a cocktail party - don't try and sell anything at first. Just to get to know people so they can have a chance to know like and trust you, then if the opportunity arises, interest them in what you have to offer. You do this because people buy from people they know, like and trust.

Showing up for excellent money making opportunity

You can never change yesterday, you can only learn from it. There is so much opportunity out there on the internet for you to succeed and make money online, that I wonder why more of us aren't successful at it. Learn from the past and realize that success is there waiting for you and you just need to show up otherwise you'll never succeed at online marketing or any other venture.

Now, is just showing up going to bring you success? Absolutely not but by showing up to the party you are expressing your interest in trying and that trying should translate into taking the steps necessary to show others who can help you that you are there and waiting for their assistance.

When I've found, and join, a good opportunity, I make it a point to contact all the people involved and that sets off a synergy that will bring me success. If there are no people to contact then you shouldn't be involved. You may be a guru and can do it alone but the rest of us need help from others. I've found it doesn't need to be a big deed it just needs to be doing something to be helpful and not to land a sale or a new member. In my various online businesses and particularly in the Berry Tree/Nutronix Automated system mentors always recommend that we are not sales people we are simply tour givers. When I personally look at a tour guide I relate it to a customer services representative. You'll notice that a customer services representative or a tour guide don't attempt to sell anything, they simply do deeds for people like give them more information or to give them details about the information they've alread seen.

In the kind of business I am in, network marketing, doing a good deed is to give information to people without telling them how good the opportunity is and let them, all by themselves determine, for themselves, if this opportunity is for them.

In the Berry Tree/Nutronix as in other legitimate programs, there are websites that actually do the telling and selling of the opportunity and it is therefore easy for business builders to jump into the role as a tour giver - doing deeds for people.

Sales will come or they won't but trying to sell somebody will surely do more harm than good in todays society.

Are Customers' Memories Of You Positive?

Here is a great comment from Rickie Lee Jones that makes a great deal of sense when you are in business and attempting to provide what is necessary to prospects and customers so that you can be successful at making money online.

So what does that have to do with business? Most business success is not a one time shot so it therefore becomes necessary, if we want to maintain our good standing in the online community, to always provide upstanding service so that others will have a memory of us that is positive.

We try in our online business, although I'm not always successful, to provide memories of us that is positive and full of integrity because even if someone doesn't want to do business with us right now perhaps they will in the future because of their positive memory of us.

Don't pull down the shades to online success

"If a window of opportunity appears, don't pull down the shade." Written by the esteemed Tom Peters.

That is an insightful comment and one more "would be" online entrepreneurs need to internalize and not just read. When you consider that most people fail at online businesses I simply answer that it's the failures' own fault because for some odd reason people pull down the shade right when they have a good opportunity presented to them. Pulling down the shade is putting the blinders on so that you can justify failure because surely failure will come if you pull down the blinds of following the new plans instructions.

Put another way, for some odd reason people are unwilling to do what they are shown to do and still expect they will receive money from their new business. In many cases the new people won't even let the new business opportunity show them what to do. There is work to do when you join an online business and you're not going to get anything for nothing - so do the work they show you to do.

I think it's a crying shame that there are people who need to make money online but fail to do the things that will bring them success.

I have booming online business that I didn't pull the blinds down on and I attribute my success to that simple action of not pulling down the blinds. The business I am associated with is a highly successful venture with time and systems on their side and it is duplicable. And if you don't make money with it then you're not trying.

I am truely interested in the success of others and am amazed at the people who will join our program, buy our product, yet won't listen to the educational conference calls, won't take us up on our proven successful advertising methods, then end up doing what they want to do to advertise that has failed for them in the past and wonder why this plan doesn't work for them.

People! If you've researched, done your due diligence and are comfortable with the new plan you are starting (all this comes from finding an excellent opportunity), then jump in head first and do what the duplicable system tells you to do. You do this and you'll reap the rewards of online success and you don't do it and that simple act will doom you to failure.

Not everybody feels that they have what it takes to make money in an MLM (even though they really do) so let me tell you about automation and MLM's.

I've found the perfect home based business and have been working feverishly on identifying why it works when so many others don't. I'm talking about MLM's. To do justice to those of you who know and understand that long salescopy isn’t always the answer to your website writing, I wanted to address when short copy makes more sense. In other articles discussing how to make money online, I pointed out that long salescopy should be used when you are selling one individual product, service or make money online program. I also emphasized that long salescopy should be used particularly when you have a service to sell.

Here I want to point out that there definitely is a place for short salescopy. There are a few circumstances where using short salescopy will assist you better to bring customers to the point of sale and hopefully as a result make money online fast or at least faster than if you were not to use short salescopy. By the way, I’d love to be able to say that you can make easy money online using short sales copy, but making money online fast or slow or any other way has more to do with all of the marketing methods you employ, not just short or long sales copy.

Back to short salescopy. When should you use it? Generally you should use short sales copy when you have many products to sell that fit into different categories. Think about it for a minute why would that be the case? You may consider that you simply want to make money online, why would it be better to use short sales copy if you are selling many products. You would simply mix the reader up by using long salescopy. If your reader is mixed up then there is little chance of making money online because they will not be able have confidence enough to click the button and buy.

Even if you thought that you could simply have a long salescopy separate and individual for each product, it’s not feasible that you’d ever make money online because you’d probably never finish your writing. Writing 10 pages for each product is a daunting task. You want to make money online as soon as you can and you need to get started as soon as you can.
